Delivery & Erection
Delivery to site will typically be on a 40ft articulated lorry. Where this is not feasible, we will arrange for the materials to be
transferred to a smaller vehicle for delivery to site. If such a transfer is required, we would need to identify a suitable transfer point close to the delivery address and may ask for your assistance in identifying a suitable location.
Upon delivery we will require a suitable area to offload the delivery vehicle and store the material whilst construction takes place. Naturally we will arrange for any materials to be correctly stored and sheeted during the construction process although you will need to take any necessary arrangements regarding site security during this time.
You should also be aware that the prefabricated building and construction materials are at the risk of the customer from the time of delivery and you should therefore make arrangements to insure the building and construction materials against damage, theft and other material risks from the time of delivery onwards.
Our own equipment and personnel are insured under the terms and conditions of our insurers. However we do request that all reasonable care is taken to ensure on site security during the construction process.
The exact build schedule will depend upon the size and complexity of the project but for most buildings we would expect an erection timetable of between 2-6 weeks depending on size, complexity and weather conditions.
Our highly skilled construction teams are supplied by our manufacturers and will have clear and detailed instructions for the successful erection and completion of the building.
Typically a construction team will consist of four tradesmen who will remain on site until completion of the project. We take full responsibility for the team’s accommodation, welfare, transport and other requirements for the duration of their stay although we would be grateful if you could ensure that basic welfare facilities are available. At the minimum this should consist of access to drinking water, WC and power supply.
In order to complete the building we may need to liase with other contractors such as electricians or plumbers for example.
Naturally these are issues that we will discuss with you at the time of ordering your building and we can make the necessary arrangements to ensure that the project is properly managed and coordinated from start to finish.
The requirements in respect of this project management will form part of our detailed discussions with you during the ordering process. If you have any specific questions or concerns regarding this please do not hesitate to speak to one of our regional directors who will happy to provide assistance and advice.
